Sara Mastrantonio graduated cum laude from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics. She began her nutrition career working for WIC in San Diego during her dietetic internship. This comprehensive internship provided her clinical experience in a variety of health care setting including a children’s hospital in Tijuana, Mexico. Her next position in the Bay area of California was in the geriatric area as a consultant Registered Dietitian in an assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Sara came back to the east coast and has gained vast clinical knowledge in a variety of settings including: acute care hospitals, hospice and working with individuals with intellectual disabilities. Her passion for preserving kidney function came from working in a university system dialysis unit. She knows that good nutrition can preserve kidney function and teaches her patients the importance of taking care of their kidneys. She believes that her work in a variety of healthcare settings provides insight to nutrition related health issues. As a Mom, Sara is dedicated to helping families tackle health issues associated with weight management. Sara is thrilled to be working with Family Nutrition Center and FNC. She is compassionate and open minded and is very supportive of patients through their nutrition counseling process. In her free time Sara enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and enjoying all that Florida has to offer! FNC is happy that Sara has joined the practice.
